Oral history

I haven't been posting much on the blog recently.  Too busy writing html and building new websites. But... recent stories in the media, and talking to ChatGPT, I realise that I have a lot of memories of pre-internet days, of events poorly recorded or understood even by AI. So, I'm going to write a short series of posts, to start with, about my days as a zoo keeper at Kilverstone Wild-life Park in Southwest Norfolk during the period 1978-1981.

A few teasers.

  1. Capybara escapes into the British countryside, as highlighted by recent media interest, not a new phenomena. We had them in the 1970s.  I remember.
  2. A jaguar escape.
  3. Chinese Water Deer in Thetford Forest.
  4. Just memories of a very different world.

Myself, feeding the otters "Slip & Slide" in their enclosure at Kilverstone Wild-life park in 1980.
